Hotrodarama will start shortly before noon
due to City Of Tacoma requirements.

HOTROD-A-RAMA IS BACK FOR 2010!!!

We have just confirmed we will have the lower parking lot so this event no longer needs to be a pre-registration event only. First come first serve as we have done in the past. We currently have close to 200 cars pre-registered and can hold close to 500!!!

NOTE: In order for the HOTROD-A-RAMA to continue at its present location the organizers have been forced to make the following changes to keep the number of vehicles attending from exceeding the capacity of the available space and resources:

  1. Motorcycles of any type will not be allowed entry
  2. Any car that the organizers feel is not a traditional hot rod or custom or does not represent the spirit of a traditional hot rod or custom (like stockers and muscle cars) will not be allowed entry

Thank you for your understanding and cooperation in this matter.

When will the show occur for the hotrod faithful?
The 8th Annual HOTROD-A-RAMA will be held on the weekend of August 6-7th, 2010.

Where will this big ol' jalopy shindig be held and how much parking will there be?
The HOTROD-A-RAMA is held in and around "The World Famous" Swiss Tavern. It is located at 1904 South Jefferson Ave in beautiful downtown Tacoma, Washington "The City of Destiny". We will be adding additional parking this year for over 500 cars. Don't let the fact that it's held at a tavern fool you. If you've been here before you know this is a great location for an event like this. We got room! Check back for more details about the Seventh Annual HOTROD-A-RAMA as they develop.

What's in store for music?
Information regarding bands to coming soon!

What is this gig gonna cost me?
Admission for those show participants who register before July 1st will be $30.00 per car. The admission fee after July 1st will be $40.00. This price does not include admission to the Swiss Friday and Saturday nights to see the headlining acts. You can register to participate with your car all the way up 'till 3:30 p.m. on Saturday or until we run out of room. Registration the day of the show will be 40 bucks as well. There is no charge for the public to view the show. Ample public parking is available around the event area.

PLEASE NOTE: The printable pre regestration form is the only way you can pre register for this event. All registrations received after July 25th will be available will-call at the event. All individuals wishing to register after the July 25th date are encouraged to do so at the event. This avoids your registration confirmation arriving at your house while you're on the way to the event--and unless we see your confirmation you'll have to register again anyway.

And now, a few words about safety...
In order to continue to have the cooperation and support of the folks behind the scenes that make it possible to stage an event like HOTROD-A-RAMA we have to have some rules. Click here for the complete list. Thanks in advance for your understanding and cooperation.

PLEASE NOTE: The HOTROD-A-RAMA boasts an ever-increasing contingent of restored and unrestored vintage drag cars, Bonneville racers and sprint cars. We encourage you to bring them to the show at no event participant cost. If you have one of these cars please contact the Event Promoter to inquire if your car qualifies for static display.

What cars are invited to the HOTROD-A-RAMA?
This event has been established to honor traditional hotrods & early custom cars (if I've got to spell it out to you, you probably wouldn't understand it anyway!).

This a pre-1965 event.

This is a pre-1965 traditional hotrods and customs only event. Event Promoters reserve the right to grant or deny any exceptions to this policy. Below is a list of some of the things we like and dislike.

We as hard core hot rodders dig:

  • Real magnesium Halibrand wheels!
  • Candy paint and primer jobs!
  • Hard rubber pie crust slicks!
  • Ford flatheads!
  • Anything with a HEMI in it!
  • 3 pedals!
  • Hotrod ingenuity!
  • Split wishbones!
  • Crusty old dragsters and gassers!
  • Blowers and Hilborn fuel injection
  • HOP UP, RODDER'S JOURNAL, CK DELUXE
ROLL AND PLEATS, PRIMER, ROD & CUSTOM
  • Laid back cool folk that dig the iron
    (it's all about the iron)

We as hard core hot rodders don't dig:

  • Any Billet Wheel ( None!)
  • Pink or Turquoise with 80's graphics
  • Fuzzy Dice and Poodle Skirts
  • Crying Baby Dolls (PUKE!)
  • Velour or Tweed interiors (office furniture)
  • GM tilt columns
  • The gold chainer "1-800" mentality
  • Independent front ends (unless its really low!)
  • Trailer Queens (unless it's a drag car)
  • Pro-Street High Tech Street Rods
  • you know which ones suck!
  • Stockers that you are afraid to cut up!
  • Car show trophy whores with egos

I could go on with this but I think your starting to get a feel of the vibe we are going for. If this sounds like your kinda party, come join us for one helluva good time. More information to follow.

Can I be a Vendor or Sponsor for this unique event?:

Yes, We we are currently looking for vendors that sell speed equipment, hotrod and custom clothing, tattoos, pinstriping, lowbrow kustom kulture artwork and related products. Vintage clothing of the 40's, 50's and early 60's only. Movie posters relating to hotrods and customs are cool. Pre 70's hotrod type magazines, books and literature are welcome. Recorded music relating to the "scene" is a-ok. Please contact the show promoter with any vendor related questions, etc. Vendor registration forms are available.....just drop us a message/request.
